POKER STRATEGY - BLUFFING IN POKERRate It [ 1.67 / 3 Votes ] Any thoughts?
Many novice players think that bluffing is a major part of the game, and perhaps it is at your Friday night penny ante game. But when they're playing in controlled casino settings, many novices bluff way too much.
There is a simple reason to bluff. If you never bluff, your opponents will quickly realize that you will only bet or raise when you have a legitimately good hand. So a little bluffing will keep your opponents guessing. However, bluffing too frequently is costly. First, in many low-limit games, so many of your opponents will call your hand that trying to bluff isn't a good move. Second, you will simply lose too much money to stay in the game for long. A little judicious bluffing will help your profits. Too much will bankrupt you.

POKER STRATEGY - POKER POSITIONRate It [ 0.00 / 0 Votes ] Any thoughts?
In Poker, where you sit in relation to your turn to bet has an impact on your results. Being forced to be an early bettor in a hand is much less advantageous than being able to bet later in the round. The reason is that the later bettor has more information than the early bettor because the late bettor has had time to observe the betting before having to make a decision.

Because of the obvious advantage of being a later bettor, casino poker forces players to rotate positions regularly. In Hold 'Em games, the "button" moves around the table, meaning that everyone gets a turn in every position. In many Stud games, the person dealt the lowest card showing has to make a forced first bet, allowing early position to be determined by the randomness of the cards.
